Bulbine frutescens, also known as orange bulbine, stalked bulbine, or simply bulbine, is a flowering plant native to South Africa. It's a succulent perennial that can grow up to 1.5 feet tall and wide, forming spreading colonies. The plant has thick stems that can grow up to one foot long and bear rosettes of narrow, linear leaves that are 6–9 inches long and 0.25 inches wide. In late spring and early summer, the plant produces small, 6-petaled flowers that are yellow or pale orange in color and have frilly stamens. The flowers are held on stalks that can grow up to two feet tall, and some plants may rebloom in the fall.
