Artemisia absinthium, also known as wormwood, is a fragrant, perennial herb that is native to Europe, West Asia, and North Africa. It has a woody stem, olive-green foliage covered in fine gray hairs, and a similar fragrance to garden sage. It is a member of the composite family and is most commonly found in dry, open waste areas, overgrazed rangeland, along roads, and in pastures
